PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND

  1. How long have you been in real estate?
    I started working in New Home sales in 2011. I became a full-time licenced Realtor® in 2018.

  2. What made you decide to become a realtor?
It seemed like a natural transition from selling new homes to home builders. I really enjoyed working with clients buying homes, and I also wanted to help clients sell their properties.

  3. What areas or neighbourhoods do you specialize in?
I tend to work with clients on the West side of Edmonton, but I have also helped clients throughout the city, including in Fort Saskatchewan, Spruce Grove, St. Albert, Sherwood Park, and Leduc.

  4. What types of properties do you most frequently work with?
I work primarily in residential real estate.

  5. What is your background and certification?
    Certified Divorce Specialist course (2023)
Fundamentals of Real Estate, Practice of Residential Real Estate (2018) PHBI – Sales Courses in Sales (2014)

PERSONAL INSIGHTS

  1. What do you enjoy most about working in real estate?
I enjoy working on my terms. There are different ways to work in this industry, and each agent gets to decide how they want to do so. They can work as a solo agent, with a partner or join or even lead a team; they can work full-time or part-time. These are a few ways to work as a Realtor®.
I also love that we get to view different homes with our clients or for our clients.

  2. Can you share a memorable experience or success story from your real estate career?
During a Seller’s market, my clients were able to sell their property for over $25k over the list price and buy a new, bigger house at the same time for almost $40k less. This was a win-win situation. They Sold high and bought for less.

  3. What are your hobbies or interests outside of work?
I enjoy travelling, spending time with family, playing golf and volleyball, and watching Edmonton Oilers hockey. The best is playing golf with family while travelling and watching the Oilers in the playoffs.

  4. Do you have a personal motto or philosophy regarding real estate?
Buy what you can and when you’re ready to buy. It can be that simple.

WORKING STYLE

  1. How do you approach helping clients buy or sell their homes?
My initial approach with a potential client is inquisitive. Until I ask specific questions, I don’t know how or if I can be of service. Once I have answered a few basic questions, I am open to answering any questions someone may have for me.

  2. What can clients expect when working with you?
I am very communicative and easy to talk to. If I don’t have the answers to questions I’m asked, I will seek them out. I work within my clients’ timelines and parameters. I tend to treat my clients like I would treat my family. Based on my past clients’ reviews, the following words have described their experience with working with me: Excellent, Professional, Knowledgeable, Dedicated, and Trustworthy.

  3. How do you stay updated with the latest market trends and changes in the real estate industry?
Our board, The REALTORS® Association of Edmonton, can be a good resource for Real Estate news. I also refer to posts and articles from LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook. Content creators love to be the first to share important events and thoughts. You don’t find that everyone has the same ideas or thoughts, so it’s good to hear different opinions about certain topics.

CLIENT RELATIONS

  1. How do you build trust with your clients?
It is very important to me that my clients feel seen and heard. Listening is underrated. When I ask certain questions, their replies help me to understand what they need, want, and expect from me.

  2. How do you communicate with clients throughout the buying or selling process?
There are many options for communicating and I ask the clients their preference. Emailing is always how I share information. But, texting, talking over the phone, or meeting in person are all options as well.

MARKET INSIGHTS

  1. What tips do you have for homeowners looking to sell their property?
In a regular market, the 3 main things to keep in mind is Price, Presentation, and Patience. They are important things to keep in mind when selling a home. Also, when getting the home ready for professional photos, always keep in mind that “Less is more”.

  2. How do you help clients determine the right price for a property?
The right price is what a buyer is willing to pay and the seller is willing to let the property go for. If a buyer offers less than what the seller is willing to let it go for, they will not end up buying that home. If a listing is not getting much attention, then the price may be too high. The Market dictates what properties are worth, not the Realtors.

PERSONAL FAVORITES

  1. What is your favourite part of your job?
I Love winning for my clients. Helping them find The One, selling their home quickly and for top dollar, helping them navigate the whole buying or selling process so that it’s less stressful, and especially winning in a bidding war for a sought-after property.

  2. Do you have a favourite type of property to work with?
I do mostly enjoy helping my clients buy new homes from home builders. Having been in the industry for several years prior to becoming a licenced Realtor®, I’m very familiar with the process and can help guide my clients in several ways.

  3. What’s your favourite local spot or hidden gem in the area you serve?
We have a local restaurant called NV Restaurant in our community. The food is fantastic, and the owner is lovely. I love supporting local businesses.

  4. What has been your experience at INITIA?
I have been at INITIA Real Estate for almost a year. It has been a very positive change. Our broker, Jonathan Yu, is very responsive and knowledgeable. The office staff is always very helpful. The brokerage is always growing and adding new pieces. Recently, the INITIA Academy was launched. It’s a great resource for agents who need it. I also attended my first INITI8 brokerage conference in Vancouver this year. I’m looking forward to it!

  5. What advice would you give to someone looking to buy a home?
Connect with a mortgage lender to get a pre-approval for a mortgage if needed.
Shopping without knowing your budget can be challenging when looking for a new property.
Understand that your wish list may change as you start viewing homes.
Be open to seeing a property for what it could be for you and/or your family.
